For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi new Q5 Sportback are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar F-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The new Q5 Sportback has standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The new Q5 Sportback has standard Maneuver Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The F-Pace doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The new Q5 Sportback has Car-to-X Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure.

Both the new Q5 Sportback and the F-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The new Q5 Sportback’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the F-Pace’s (12 vs. 6 years).

There are almost 3 times as many Audi dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the new Q5 Sportback’s warranty.

The Audi new Q5 Sportback’s engine uses a cast iron block for durability, while the F-Pace’s engines use an aluminum block. Aluminum engine blocks are much more prone to warp and crack at high temperatures than cast iron.

To reliably power the ignition and other systems and to recharge the battery, the new Q5 Sportback has a standard 150-amp alternator. The F-Pace’s 130-amp alternator isn’t as powerful.

The new Q5 Sportback’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid produces 22 more horsepower (268 vs. 246) and 26 lbs.-ft. more torque (295 vs. 269) than the F-Pace P250’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Audi new Q5 Sportback uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The F-Pace requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The new Q5 Sportback has a standard locking fuel door which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the F-Pace. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Audi new Q5 Sportback higher (6 out of 10) than the Jaguar F-Pace (2 to 6). This means the new Q5 Sportback produces up to 27.7 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the F-Pace every 15,000 miles.

The new Q5 Sportback offers an available sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The F-Pace doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The new Q5 Sportback’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The F-Pace doesn’t offer launch control.

The new Q5 Sportback Prestige has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The new Q5 Sportback’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better maneuverability, the new Q5 Sportback’s turning circle is .5 feet tighter than the F-Pace’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.2 feet). The new Q5 Sportback’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the F-Pace SVR’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.4 feet).

The new Q5 Sportback is 6.7 inches narrower than the F-Pace, making the new Q5 Sportback easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The new Q5 Sportback has .6 inches more front legroom, .8 inches more rear legroom and .1 inches more rear shoulder room than the F-Pace.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the new Q5 Sportback’s rear seats recline. The F-Pace’s rear seats don’t recline.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the new Q5 Sportback’s liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The new Q5 Sportback’s power window, power lock and power mirror switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The F-Pace’s power mirror switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the new Q5 Sportback to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the F-Pace.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the new Q5 Sportback Premium Plus/Prestige has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The F-Pace doesn’t offer cornering lights. The new Q5 Sportback Premium Plus/Prestige also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the new Q5 Sportback has standard extendable sun visors. The F-Pace doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the new Q5 Sportback to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The F-Pace doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Audi Q5/SQ5 outsold the Jaguar F-Pace by almost 11 to one during 2024.
